Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Takara mobile application ("App") or visiting our website at takara.cards ("Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App or Website.
"Takara," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operators of the Takara App and Website. "You" and "your" refer to you, the user.
2. Description of Service
Takara is a trading card game (TCG) collection management app that allows you to:
- Track and manage your card collection
- Scan cards using your device camera
- Browse card databases and set information
- Organize cards in custom digital binders
- Track set completion progress
The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice.
3. User Accounts
To use certain features of the App, you may need to create an account using a supported authentication provider (Apple, Google, or phone number). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Takara offers a free tier and a paid subscription plan ("Takara Pro"). Takara Pro provides access to premium features including binder view, advanced filters, and additional customization options.
Billing
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account. Prices are displayed in-app before purchase. All payments are processed by the respective platform (Apple or Google) and are subject to their terms and refund policies.
Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription through your device's account settings.
Free Trials
If a free trial is offered, it will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled beforehand. Any unused portion of a free trial will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Refunds
Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.
5. User Content and Data
You retain ownership of any data you enter into the App, including your collection data, binder configurations, and notes. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and sync your data as necessary to provide the service.
We do not claim ownership of your collection data. You may export or delete your data at any time through the App.
6. Card Data and Images
Card names, images, and related information displayed in the App are the property of their respective owners (e.g., The Pokemon Company, Bandai Namco). Takara is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any trading card game publisher.
Card data is provided for informational and personal collection management purposes only. Any use of card data for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Scrape, mine, or otherwise extract data from the App in an automated manner
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or networks
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent subscription limits or restrictions
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the App or any of its features
8. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, graphics, and user interface, is the property of Takara and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our express written permission.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of card data, pricing information, or any other content in the App.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Takara and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:
- Your use or inability to use the App
- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
- Any bugs, viruses, or errors in the App
- Any content or conduct of any third party on the App
12. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will cease immediately.
You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account through the App. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any subscription fees already paid.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other means. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Takara operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
